Ponds

Rockville Fish and Game Club maintains two ponds for member & guest fishing. Both ponds are stocked with brook and rainbow trout. Separate rules and regulations are specified for each pond. Follow the regulations for the pond you are fishing. Pond tickets are required to fish the ponds.

Stocking Fish at the Pond

Pond Ticket

A pond ticket is REQUIRED to fish these ponds. Members can purchase a pond ticket at the Trap & Skeet range, club house meetings, or by contacting Mike
Olesnevich at (860)-593-7691. Cost is $27/adult and $12/kids.

Pond Information

Upper Pond – The upper pond is for fly fishing only.

Lower Pond – The lower pond is open to flies, single-hook lures, and spinners. Only Junior Anglers can use worms or night crawlers.

Fishing at both ponds is permitted from the shore only – keep out of the water.

The picnic tables and grill at each pond are there for your use. Please use the available trash receptacles for your waste and clean the grill after you use it.

Rules and Regulations

UPPER POND REGULATIONS

  1. Each member or person in his/her family must have a current pond ticket to fish the upper pond.
  2. Only one rod per ticket will be allowed. The rod may be used by the pond ticket holder, or spouse or his/her guest. The club member must be present at all times when a family member or guest is using the upper pond facilities.
  3. All members must sign in any time they use the pond facilities whether or not they catch any fish.
  4. Fishing is allowed between 6:00 A.M. and dusk only. This pond is for fly fishing only. The use of barb-less hooks is encouraged. No lures, spinners, shiners, power bait, marshmallows, corn, or the like is allowed.
  5. Two fish per day and four fish per week may be kept per adult ticket and one fish per day and two per week for junior anglers.
  6. Fish caught with the intention of releasing that fish must be released immediately. Do not release injured fish that will not survive. Record these fish as ‘Taken’.
  7. Members and guests may continue fishing after they reach their daily limit but must immediately release all fish subsequently caught.
  8. The week is Saturday through Friday for the purposes of recording your catch.
  9. You must record the number of your pond ticket, your name, membership number as well as the type of fish caught/kept and the method of angling in the pond log.

  1. Each member or eligible person in his/her family must have a current pond ticked to fish the lower pond.
  2. Only one rod per pond ticket will be allowed. The rod may be used by the pond ticket holder or spouse or his/her guest. The club member must be present at all times when a family member or guest is using the lower pond facilities.
  3. All members must sign in any time they use the pond facilities whether or not they catch any fish.
