Bowling Pin Match 2

Range:  Rifle Range

Targets:  Five (5) or eleven (11) Ten Pin regulation Bowling Pins depending on the class being shot.  Pins will be positioned approximately 36 feet in front of the two (2) Portable firing stations.

Firearm(s) / Ammunition:   Any rimfire or centerfire Revolver or Semi-automatic Pistol capable of holding multiple rounds using either open or optical sights.

Restrictions:  No use of rifles or shotguns.

Safety:  All firearms will be brought to the range unloaded and cased.  Competitors and observers will provide their own ear and eye protection and may wish to bring chairs as this match is held down range.  All competitors MUST attend the mandatory safety / match briefing that begins at 10:00 AM SHARP.

Match Description:  This year’s pin shoot will return to a simpler time. Back to a match called Second Chance (Go ahead and Google it. Interesting reading).

  1. There will be 4 divisions. Semi-automatic, revolver, 9mm parabellum and open.
  2. Semi auto will consist of any iron sight semi-automatic handgun.
  3. Revolver is self-explanatory. Any iron sight revolver.
  4. 9mm is any iron sight handgun chambered in 9mm. This is the only division that there is no capacity limit.
  5. Open is any handgun that is not stock. If it’s got a compensator, it’s open. If it’s got a red dot or laser sight, it’s open.
  6. All divisions with the exception of 9mm have a magazine capacity limit of 10 rounds.
  7. Semi-automatic, revolver and open will shoot at 5 pins, set 12” from the front edge of a 3’ deep table. 9mm will shoot at 11 pins set 12” from the back edge of the same table.
  8. From the start signal, your time goes until the last pin hits the ground. Time runs as long as the pin(s) are on the table.
  9. Scoring is the total of three runs.

Note:  Match may be cancelled / rescheduled due to inclement weather.  Call the RF&G Range Number (860) 454-0240 or Match Director(s) for the match status if the weather is forecasted to impact the event.  A sign will also be posted at the entrance to the range IF the match has been cancelled.
