100th Year Celebration – Family Day & BBQ

Members and their family and guests are invited to join us for a Family Day and BBQ on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The day kicks off at Noon with special activities at Rifle, Pistol, Trap & Skeet, and Archery – A great opportunity to try out a new venue! Grab a partner and sign up for our Cornhole Competition or try your hand at horseshoes. At 4:00 PM we welcome Senator Jeff Gordon and State Representative Tammy Nuccio who will present a State of CT Citation in honor of our Centennial. Reserve your ticket to the Wings and Pulled Pork BBQ – only $10 and free for kids under 10! Stick around for live music by A-Ray of Elvis, followed by a bonfire (bring a lawn chair).
Pistol Range • 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Try your luck at Pistol Poker! $5 a hand. Impromptu matches ongoing throughout the day. The winner will take half of their respective pot. Limited to .22 caliber only. You may bring your own .22 handgun and ammo. The club will also have .22 pistols available. Eye and ear protection is available if needed. New shooters or anyone looking to just shoot with a coach or warm up may do so at no charge.
Rifle Range • 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Test your accuracy with our Fly Swatter Rimfire Rifle Benchrest Challenge. $5 per round. Impromptu matches ongoing throughout the day. The winner will take half of their respective pot. Limited to .22 rimfire rifle only. The club will also have .22 rifles available. Eye and ear protection is available if needed. New shooters or anyone looking to just shoot with a coach or warm up may do so at no charge.
Archery • 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Stop by the archery practice range for a “fun shot” activity. Winner gets a gift card. There will also be fun activities for kids. Anyone who would like to give archery a try is welcome to come down. Coaching will be available for newbies. Use of Archery equipment for kids and adults will also be available.
Trap and Skeet • 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Ongoing demonstrations on how to shoot Trap and Skeet will run throughout the day. There will also be opportunities to give it a try with one-on-one instruction provided. This is a great opportunity to try a sport you may not have considered. Shot guns will be available for use or members may bring their own with Modified or Skeet chokes. Bring eye and ear protection if you have it. A limited supply of clear lens safety glasses and ear plugs are available if needed.
Lower Pond • 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Youth Fishing available at the lower pond. Everything needed is provided for youth to use including poles and worms. Stop down and learn how to cast and enjoy a morning of fishing.
Horseshoes (Pavilion) • 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Grab a few friends and stop by the horseshoe pit for a round of shoes. No formal schedule.
Corn Hole Competition (Field at Pavilion) • 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Grab a partner and participate in a friendly corn hole competition. Stop by the field area to sign up for a slot. Prizes and bragging rights for the winning team.
BBQ Supper and Citation Presentation (Pavilion) • 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
$10 per person, free for kids under 10. Senator Jeff Gordon and State Representatives Tammy Nuccio and Tim Ackert will present the Club with a citation in honor of our 100th anniversary. Immediately following is the BBQ supper. BYOB. Potluck dessert. Reserve your ticket to the Wings and Pulled Pork BBQ – only $10 and free for kids under 10!
Live Music – A Ray of Elvis (Pavilion) • 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Dance and sing along to Elvis-era music.
Bonfire (Field at Pavilion) • 8:30 PM
Bring your lawn chair and end the day relaxing by the bonfire.
