Drill Days
August 14 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
“Drill Days” is an event with a modified and supervised range setup to allow club members to practice and self-train in the skill sets required in practical shooting via self paced drills. “Drill Days” is not formal training, or a competition. This is simply a time and place for you, the member, to come and practice at your pace.
All participants are required to read, understand, and follow the Event SOP. You will be sent the SOP upon registration, read the SOP before the event. Failure to follow the SOP will result in a disqualification for the day of the event. Gross negligence or failure to follow cardinal safety rules will result in a ban from the event and possible disciplinary actions from the board. The staff is more than willing to answer any questions you have on the day of the event, or contact the event coordinator.
In order to participate in drill days, attendees must pass a shooting competency evaluation. The evaluation will be sent to you after registration, and you will complete it the first event you participate in. The evaluation outline can be found below. Review and practice it dry fire at home and youll have no issue at all: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1obCfEuCqlj0qbretsWzElMMyX51ebISihhvXI1C8i8o/edit
Your first draw from a holster, target transition, or practice moving and shooting should not be at the event. We HIGHLY recommend practice at home before attending these events. You can find some great resources for dry fire practice in the evaluation testing procedure document linked above. Feel free to contact the event coordinator if you have any questions or need some tips! We are more than willing to help, we want everyone to get better together!
Drill days is a highly supervised event with qualified and approved Event RSOs. RFG RSO status does not make you a Qualified Event RSO. Reach out to the event coordinator for more information.
